Contribute to WordPress

Welcome. If you have found this section from attending a WordCamp or a contributor event, we are glad you are visiting.

This section was first created for WordCamp Europe in June 2021 and has been made available for camps since. We are particularly welcoming attendees from WordCamp US this October. If you have any questions about contributing and are already on the Make WordPress slack, just drop into the contributor-day channel, and we will try and signpost you some information or direct you to the right team.

This year, we celebrate the work of the wonderful community of contributors, bringing you stories and resources which you can access during the event and after. To do this, we have made changes to the usual schedule. This also recognises the difficulties faced by so many in finding large blocks of time to take part online during the ongoing global situation. Instead of the traditional separate Contributor Day, WordCamp Europe 2021 had a number of Contributor Experience sessions throughout the event, from Monday 7 June to Wednesday 9 June 2021.

What is contributing?

The mission of WordPress is to support the democratizing of publishing. It supports the freedoms that come with open source. The project has a large community of people collaborating and contributing to it. It seeks to be a community that is welcoming and inclusive.

WordPress contributors come from different cultures, countries and time-zones across the globe, and give countless to keep taking forward the platform and what it can do.
