Hosting Team

What does the team do?

The Hosting Team works to improve WordPress’ end-users experience across hosting environments through industry collaboration and user education.

It supports hosts and sysadmins, developers or collaborators in everything related to hosting, including web servers, database, PHP, cache and many other aspects.

It tests WordPress installation and compatibility and takes parts in helping each WordPress release run smoothly on most servers.

There are many tasks available which people can help with. In addition, the team has a handbook in which it keeps suggestions on environments when setting up the perfect hosting for WordPress. It also has a tool for those who want to test WordPress changes and how they affect hosting.

Here are a couple of members of the Hosting Team, you might meet at WordCamp Europe.

Are you new to the team?

If you have a question or an issue related to hosting, you need to go to your hosting provider first and if the matter is outside their assistance, ask for advice on the Support Forums.

If you want to get involved with developing and testing WordPress from a hosting’s point of view, join the Team!

You don’t need to be a hosting provider representative to join the Team, but if you are, you definitely need to take part.

The Team meets in the #hosting-community Slack channel each week on Wednesday at 09:00 UTC (11:00 CEST) and 18:00 UTC (20:00 CEST).
