You won’t believe what happened with #WCEU while you were sleeping 😱

Another year has passed and we’re getting closer to June 14th – the first day of WordCamp Europe 2018. While we’re working hard on bringing you the best WordCamp Europe experience ever, we’d like to give you an overview of what has been going on in the past month. But before we start, have you got your ticket yet?

Call for speaker closes but we’re still searching for volunteers and photographers

On January 15th we closed our Call for speakers, getting an impressive 378 speaker applications. If you applied to speak, you could expect to hear back from us beginning of March.

We also opened Call for volunteers. To make WordCamp Europe the kind of event we all want, we need a lot of volunteers. For the first time this year, we have prepared a list of volunteer roles so you can tell us which roles suit you best. Call for volunteers closes March 31st.

A few days back we started looking for people who will be part of this year’s Photography team. By being part of the photography team at WCEU, you’ll gain valuable experience and meet a lot of interesting people along the way, working with a group of like-minded individuals. As with volunteers, you have time to apply to become a photographer or videographer until March 31st.

Where will WordCamp Europe go in 2019?

Some weeks back we started another important process – the search for the next host city. Call for WCEU 2019 host city is open and closes the same day as Call for volunteers and Call for photographers – March 31st, at 23:59 CET.

If your local community organised a successful WordCamp in 2016 or 2017 then why not give it a try and apply to host WordCamp Europe in your city next year?

Want to support WordCamp Europe further? Become a sponsor!

WordCamp Europe is one of the most important WordPress conferences. At last year’s event, we welcomed 1900 people from 79 countries in Paris. A further one thousand tuned into our live stream, making for a total of 2900 attendees from 92 countries.

As a sponsor, you will play an important role in the success of WordCamp Europe 2018 and have the chance to grab the attention of a large, engaged audience. You shouldn’t miss this opportunity (there are a few spots left!).

Meet 2018 Media Partners and Supporters

Media partnership for WordCamp Europe was introduced in 2017, when we welcomed Torque Magazine, WPTavern, and KrautPress as partners to help us tell exceptional stories. They will be joining us again for 2018, alongside ThemeIsle, FireMud FM, Telegraf, PC Press, and Netokracija. Get to know our Media Partners and Supporters.

What’s the page where you can find all the info you’ll need?

Having questions about Belgrade and Serbia or just want to know where to stay and how to get to the Serbian capital? If there’s one page that you need to bookmark – “Attendee Information” is the one.

On that single page, we have prepared links to all the essential information on our website. You can find venue locations and get to know the Serbian capital. While there, we recommend you read (and follow) our “Discover Belgrade” editorial series to get a feeling of what you can do there.

To help you plan how to get to Belgrade our comprehensive guide (including airplanes, trains, buses and cars) is a good starting point. And if you’re flying to WordCamp Europe – we also listed all the cities that have direct and regular flights to Belgrade.

If you’re searching for a place to stay, there is a detailed list of all recommended accommodation options as well as co-working spaces for those of you who plan to work before or after the conference.

In case you have any questions, we recommend going through our FAQ page first as we have answered some of your questions already. If the answer is not on that list please get in touch with us and we’ll try to answer as soon as possible.
