/wceu-starts-tomorrow-🚀

Are you ready for lift off? WCEU is here and it’s gonna be spectacular! People have started to arrive from all corners of the world to Belgrade and this creates a wonderful vibe before the event. If you got here early, hope you enjoyed this beautiful city that hosts the sixth edition of WordCamp Europe. If you’re still on the way, we hope everything goes as planned!

Now, we’re just waiting for everyone to be here. Here’s a final roundup with everything you need to know while at WCEU:

Contributor Day, June 14th

WordCamp Europe starts tomorrow with Contributor Day at Belexpo Centar. We begin at 8:30 when registration opens, and we will contribute until 17:00 with a lunch break at 12:30. Teams are listed here, and if you’re a first-time contributor, there’s a section on everything you need to know to make your first experience a great one.

The Conference, June 15-16th

Friday and Saturday are the conference days and they will take place in Sava Centar. On Friday registration will open at 8:00, with opening remarks at 9:30 and the first sessions (and workshops) starting at 10:00. Lunch will be at 13:00 though we will start serving it half an hour earlier for all of you who are in the hallway track. On the second conference day (Saturday) registration will be open at 8:00 with sessions starting at 9:00. Check out the full schedule for both days.

If you’re looking to network, we will have an Open Networking session on Friday at 8:30 followed by Speed Networking session at 10:00. The second Open Networking session will take place after the closing remarks on Saturday, at 17:30. We will also have Tribe Meetups focused on specific topics – here’s a full list and more info about them.

How to treat each other?

  • Be considerate, respectful, and collaborative.
  • Be inclusive and value each other’s ideas, styles and viewpoints.
  • Be mindful of your surroundings and of your fellow participants. Help new perspectives be heard.
  • Participate in an authentic and active way. Lead by example and match your actions with your words.

The following will not be tolerated at WordCamp Europe

  • Violence and threats of violence; personal attacks; derogatory language; unwelcome sexual attention or physical contact; disruptive behaviour; encouraging or promoting unacceptable behaviour.

Are you seeing behaviour that doesn’t respect these guidelines?

The After Party 🛸

The After Party will be held at Belexpo Centar (the same venue where Contributor Day happens). It will start at 19:00 after the second conference day is over.

All non-alcoholic beverages will be served free, and the first alcoholic drink is on us. After that beer, wine and cocktails will be 2€ a piece (or the equivalent in dinars) Make sure to bring your badge and some cash (Serbian dinars are preferred but Euros are accepted too, though note that all change will be given in dinars. Credit cards are not accepted). In case you will need more – there’s an ATM nearby. We are also serving hot and cold food all night, for free!

Meet our Sponsors

Take some time and stop by our sponsors’ booths in Sava Centar’s Expo Area and see what they have prepared for you this year. We’re grateful for the wonderful support given by our sponsors! They help us improve and make WCEU better with each edition 💪

The official WCEU app

All this information (and more) can be found in our mobile app. Yes! For the very first time WCEU has its own official app. The app is a PWA that can be saved to the home screen of your mobile device without you having to visit the App Store/Play Store. It uses far less storage than a native app and is available starting today at https://app.wp-europe.org. We recommend you save to your home screen now or put it in your favorites list as it will have the most up-to-date information of all (unfortunately, there are some errors in the booklet because of last minute changes).

Get social

For everything else, including last-minute announcements or changes, follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. And don’t forget to use the official WCEU app which comes with push notifications (though only on Android for now).

Thank you for coming and let’s make another WordCamp Europe rock!
