Ok great, but how can we apply?

Applications have now closed.

This survey has the following sections:

  • Local Community: this section is designed to find out more about your local community activity and your team.
  • The venue: we will ask you for details about the venue, its main characteristics, and the availability for Contributor Day. Pre-booking of the venue is mandatory for the application to be sent, and a budget estimation for catering services would be appreciated.
  • The host city: basic questions regarding transportation, logistics and accommodation.
  • Additional information and pitch: any extra detail you think is important for your application and finally, your pitch.

Important: WordCamp Europe takes place in June each year, and we avoid the last weekend due to the traditional summer holiday period in European countries.

Therefore the provisional event days for 2025 to choose from are:

  • 6 – 8 June
  • 13 – 15 June
  • 20 – 22 June

Don’t worry if you have questions about the process, or how to submit the requested information, you will have the support of our team to complete and send your proposal.

Transparency and clarity in the selection process

To ensure transparency, the Host City selection committee will focus on two fundamental elements:

  • Creating a level playing field: all applicants and applications will receive the same assistance by the Host City Selection committee and they will receive all the help they need. Applications will be ranked and compared based on the survey’s answers, with rankings determining the final selection.
  • Clear information: All applicants will know at all times which cities have submitted to the selection process. We will publish an entry on the WordCamp Europe blog on 16 February 2025, with a list of the finalist cities.

WCEU has been held in countries such as The Netherlands, Bulgaria, Spain, Austria, France, Serbia, Germany, Portugal, Greece, and Italy. There are still many countries in Europe that have not yet hosted WCEU, these countries will have preference in this selection process.
