Word Camp Europe 2022 "Family Photo"

Thank you for making WCEU 2022 a success!

During his presentation on Day 1 of WCEU 2022, Milan Ivanović, the Global Lead of WordCamp Europe 2019, spoke to the importance of the people in the WordPress community.

The code is poetry, but the community is where the heart is.

Milan Ivanović

As we close out WCEU2022, we want to take a moment to recognize the community that came together to plan, organize, host, and facilitate the first in-person WordCamp Europe in three years. Without your time, energy, and passion, none of this would have happened.

The Global Leads

Leading the effort to bring WCEU 2022 to life was a team of four talented and experienced individuals. We want to thank them for their vision, persistence, and good humor.

  • Bernard Kau
  • José Ramón Padrón
  • Lesley Molecke
  • Taeke Reijenga

These team members have stepped down now and will enjoy some well-deserved rest (but we’ll look forward to seeing them at WCEU 2023 !).

And, of course, our amazing volunteers!

WordCamps everywhere are only possible with the hard work of volunteers who sign up to lend their time and energy to make sure everything runs smoothly during the event. This year we recruited 164 volunteers.

For many attendees, our Volunteers are the “face” of WordCamp. Throughout the event, they performed dozens of tasks that were vital to the success of WCEU 2022.

You may have directly interacted with the friendly volunteers at the registration desk. You’ve seen the emcees and workshop assistants keeping us on schedule.

You may not have seen the efforts of many of the volunteers who work behind the scenes providing support to our sponsors, preparing content for social media posts, assisting with meal service, and numerous other jobs that made the event run smoothly.

Regardless of their visibility, we want to say a huge THANK YOU! to our Volunteers.

See you in Athens!
