In just about a week you will be able to attend the second WordCamp Europe that’s being held online. Early January we started with the first preparations: a team of organisers was formed.
We started with the wildest ideas, we learned from last year’s event and slowly the ideas turned into a realistic concept, as you will see next week.
Besides our daily life activities we’ve been dedicating hours, days and weeks to make this year’s event an unforgettable event. And there was even time to become a parent and design some crazy rompers for the baby.
We’ve had the craziest discussions in our Slack channels:
“Why are we waiting to release free tickets until midnight?
We can lose people for not having available tickets when they get to the site and maybe don’t come back?“
Wondering about these questions?
“Well, if we would lose people it wouldn’t be hundreds. And on the other hand: the tickets are free anyhow.“
Good point? Well, it just went a little further:
“Expectations…. and also it’s easier, because you can set the ticket start date to only a particular day, not a time. And right now the ticket start date for the next batch of tickets is set to 27 May 2021, so at midnight the doors are open again.
It’s just like those people camping at the ticket sales to be the first to get a ticket for their rock star. And guess what… we’re called a WordCAMP… tadaaa!“
Yes, we have been having fun the past couple of months. And now, at this very moment, we’re setting the stage for WCEU 2021! We hope that you are about just as excited as we are.
So, check your wardrobe and choose your glad rags. Yes, we know it’s online but this is an excuse to dress up people (and we mean all people).
Bring out your brightest colours, stick feathers in your hair and spray on the glitter. This show is about to open. Don’t be late – it’s going to be great!
