WordCamp Europe 2021 will offer a Contributor Experience throughout all three days of the event. It will highlight how people sharing their skills and energies helps to make WordPress great and the countless opportunities available to new and existing contributors.
This year, we will celebrate the work of the wonderful community of contributors, bringing you stories and resources which you can access during the event and after. To do this, we have made changes to the usual schedule. This also recognises the difficulties faced by so many in finding large blocks of time to take part online during the ongoing global situation. Instead of the traditional separate Contributor Day, there will be a number of Contributor Experience sessions:
7 June to 9 June 2021 starting at 15:00 CEST
Is this not your time zone? You can use a time converter tool online.
So there will be no need to book out a whole day to participate this year! During WCEU2021 you will be able to join contributor sessions, access a special on-demand area, and find out how to set up the tools. You will be able to discover more about the different teams and when you can join their sessions which take place throughout the year. We want to help would-be contributors find the information they need to start or expand their journey. Working alongside the Make Teams, we will be promoting getting started materials in the weeks before WordCamp Europe too!
We want to place all aspects of contributing into the mainstream programming of WCEU2021 and showcase the different teams that make WordPress. Through this we hope even more people will think about giving their time, try new teams or discover additional ways to get involved.
There are so many ways to learn more or get involved. Join us throughout the event to discover new ways to share your skills in this amazing global project which helps to democratize publishing.
There will be a number of live workshop sessions. There will also be lots of on-demand resources available to help you get started from the Make Teams and materials available on the new, free to access community resource Learn WordPress.org.
WordPress as an open source platform is constantly evolving and by getting involved as a contributor, you can help shape its future. Opportunities are open for developers, linguists, editors, users and those with bright ideas in general. We look forward to having many of you help us to celebrate contributors at WCEU2021.
