It’s finally here! What we’ve all been waiting for. 🙂 WordCamp Europe 2018 starts in a week. And, although we know you are already prepared, it’s never a bad idea to go through some of the most important things to remember.
Local Transportation and Serbian SIM Cards
Last week was quite busy as we published some of the last information about WordCamp Europe. If you are flying to Belgrade, you will be happy to know that we worked hard to arrange a taxi transfer from the airport to your hotels (or any other accommodation you booked). More info can be found on the local transportation page, alongside info about the public transport system.
As Serbia is not part of the European Union, roaming charges will apply to anyone travelling to Serbia. Although there will be WiFi in the public areas during WordCamp Europe, some people need more. For that reason, we researched options for Serbian SIM cards.
Food, Food, Food!
This year we went the extra mile and published all food menus upfront, to make your planning a bit easier. We’re proud of the food selection and hope there will be something everyone.
After two years of providing bagged lunches, this year we are going back to the buffet format to make it easier for you to compose your own meals. And last but not least – there will be food at the After Party, and it will be on us!
Attendee Services – What Is It? (And Other Innovations)
If you’ve requested a ticket invoice, a visa invitation letter, sent a general inquiry or looked for information on our FAQ page, then you have already seen Attendee Services in action. They’re a new team we presented in a separate article last week.
At the conference, we will be introducing the Info Booth – a central meeting point where you can ask any question you might have as well as meet fellow attendees. And for the first time – we’ll print all the badges on site. This means that if you changed companies or have a new Twitter account – you should update your info today. New badges also bring barcodes – something you can use to interact with our sponsors if you want to.
Also, for all you tech-savvy people, the last innovation is the official WordCamp Europe 2018 mobile app. The app is available on both iPhone and Android. As the one and only official app, it will be the lightweight, easy-to-access place for you to access all essential information and last minute changes.
Things to Remember
WordCamp Europe starts with Contributor Day on Thursday the 14th at Belexpo Centar. Registrations open at 8:30 with the lunch at 12:30 and closing remarks at 17:00.
The conference days will take place in Sava Centar. First conference day is on Friday the 15th, with registrations starting at 8:00. First open networking session will begin at 8:30 followed by opening remarks at 9:30. First sessions start at 10:00 and lunch will be served from 12:30 to 14:30 (officially from 13:00 to 14:00).

The second conference day is on Saturday, 16th and we start a bit later, at 10:00 with the lunch served the same way as on day one. Closing remarks will be at 17:00 and this is important because we will be announcing where will WordCamp Europe go in 2019.

During both conference days we will have numerous tribe meetups and one speed networking session so check them out.
The After Party will take place at the Belexpo Centar (the same venue as the Contributor Day). The food will be served there as we start at 19:00 and end at 2:00.
