One of the main reasons people come to WCEU is to connect to people; so we’re trying a few new things to bring the community closer together. We hope you will enjoy our new Open Networking format.
How will Open Networking work?
The idea behind Open Networking is to offer those coming in early on Friday, June 15th at 8:30, and the late stayers on Saturday, June 16th after Closing Remarks to have a place, and some light icebreakers to meet each other, and exchange ideas, experiences and impressions. Why not drink your coffee at the Open Networking event and meet new people?
Your WordCamp name badge will include an “ask me about” section this year. We encourage you to write a topic (or a few), that you love to talk about. That could be anything from WordPress, engineering, design, but also hobbies that are not strictly WordPress related. You could be an expert on the REST API, Belgrade, or chai noodles — we want to hear it!
You will also find stickers with icebreaker questions at the Open Networking table in the Expo area. There will be markers in multiple colours to fill in your creative answers to break the ice and help you get conversations started.
Where is this magical place?
Open Networking will be by the Expo Area where you can also find our sponsors. Grab a cup of coffee, an icebreaker sticker and start meeting new people in the community.
Ready to meet and connect with new people?
The Open Networking event aims to support our inclusive and diverse WordPress community. We hope to see as many of you as possible bright and early in the morning!
