Call for Mentors – WordCamp Europe 2023

Are you an experienced WordCamp Speaker passionate about sharing your knowledge and helping others strengthen their speaking skills? We are currently seeking speaker mentors for WordCamp Europe 2023.

As a speaker mentor, you will be paired with one or more conference speakers looking for guidance and support in preparing and delivering their presentations. You will work with them to refine their presentation skills, review your content and slide deck formatting, and provide constructive feedback. This will help them build confidence and deliver their best presentation.

We are looking for individuals with a strong background in public speaking and presentation skills. We prefer that you have experience speaking at large WordCamps (including WordCamp Europe, WCUS or WCAsia), but speakers with experience at other major events may apply.

In addition to your speaking experience, we are also looking for mentors who are patient, supportive, and able to provide constructive feedback in a helpful and encouraging way.

If you are interested in becoming a speaker mentor, please submit your application by 31st March, 2023

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I have to be at the event when being a mentor?

A: No, you are not required to be physically there. But your mentee probably would love to meet you in person if you attend the event in Athens!

Q: That sounds interesting! How much time do I need to invest?

A: It will depend specifically on the selected topic and the speaker, but we think it should not take more than 10-15 hours before the event.

Q: I’ve spoken at other large events, but not at a WordCamp. Can I still apply as a mentor?

A: While we prefer major WordCamp speaking experience, your knowledge is still valuable. Even if you have not been a speaker at a big WordCamp, if you think you are the right candidate, please apply!
