Serbia consists of many provinces, each with their own customs, way of preparing a food, and dialects. If you plan to stay in Serbia for a week, or longer, while at WordCamp Europe then why not take the chance to explore some of them? In this article, we present five central cities from the biggest provinces.
You’ll probably overeat during your stay in Serbia, because if you leave something on your plate, your host or a chef in the restaurant may think that you didn’t like the food. 🙂 We like and respect food a lot. You will not find many restaurants with modern molecular cuisine but mostly ones with either domestic or Italian food.
It’s always a good idea to try some local food when travelling to a new county, so we’ve prepared a list of dishes you shouldn’t miss.
By now, you are probably wondering what you can expect when you arrive at WordCamp Europe in Belgrade in a few months? Well, to start with – you can expect a fantastic and welcoming atmosphere. Serbs are known to be funny, sociable and friendly – and this is something that’s even more visible within the Serbian WordPress community.
We started our article series with a timeline of Belgrade’s history and with recommendations on what to do in Belgrade if you’re visiting with your family. Today we are writing about Serbian traditions that were influenced by both religion and historical turbulence in the region. Even today, when some of these traditions have profoundly changed, Serbian people value love and family above all. And they are having a good time while doing so.
When you’re traveling to famous cities like London, Rome, Vienna, or Paris you probably know something about their history. You already have some places and monuments you’d like to visit. Belgrade, on the other hand, is a smaller city from a lesser known country. However, it has an incredible history and a lot for Serbians to be proud of.
Get yourself a coffee, take a seat in your favourite chair, and prepare to journey through Belgrade’s history!
