What you need to know:

  • WordCamp Europe 2016 will be Europe’s largest WordCamp to date, succeeding three equally successful WordCamps in Seville (2015), Sofia (2014) and Leiden (2013).
  • WordCamp Europe 2015 had 61% of visitors come from Europe (excluding the host country), 28% from the host country and 11% from the rest of the world. Over 2014, the greatest growth was in visitors from around Europe, so WCEU is becoming incredibly diverse.
  • Attendees in 2015 traveled from 52 countries.
  • 85% of 2015 attendees attended the after-party.
  • 99% of attendees said they’d come back 🙂

WordPress is a free and open source blogging tool and a content management system (CMS). WordPress is used by 24% of the top 10 million websites online. WordPress is currently the most popular content management system in use on the Internet.

WordCamps are conferences covering everything related to WordPress. They are the official conferences relating to WordPress as each is also approved by WordCamp Central.

WordCamps are non-profit events, with any surplus being fed back into the WordPress Foundation, the charity holding all WordPress trademarks.
