And yes, that reputation isn\u2019t entirely undeserved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But like any pricey destination, there are always options. Think of it this way: Switzerland offers both Swatch and Rolex. WordCamp is definitely more Swatch \u2013 high quality, low cost, and full of personality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>So, where does it actually get <\/strong><strong>Cheap<\/strong><strong>?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Accommodation, accommodation, accommodation. That\u2019s the biggest bite out of your budget. But once that\u2019s sorted, most other essentials are covered by the event \u2013 food, drinks, inspiration!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Bonus tip:<\/em> Stay in a hotel, hostel, bed and breakfast, or apartment in Basel and you\u2019ll receive a free \u201cBasel Card\u201d, giving you unlimited access to free public transport during your stay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As for shopping, that\u2019s up to you. Chocolate? Affordable and delicious options await at Migros or Coop. Watches?
