WordPress has enabled positive societal transformation since inception, especially in the most resource-constrained environments. In Bulgaria, a country rich in spirit and history but facing economic and social challenges, social entrepreneurs are transforming communities with creativity and resilience. WordPress plays a pivotal role in this movement, empowering changemakers to amplify their impact.

This talk explores how organisations like Teenovator, Animal Rescue Sofia, and Mediapool.bg leverage the Open Source power of WordPress to drive volunteerism, lead teenage entrepreneurship educational initiatives, rescue animals, and champion independent journalism. These initiatives are proof that technology can be a force for good, breaking down barriers for individuals and communities to innovate and collaborate.

In this talk Petya Raykovska, a volunteer and a volunteer wrangler in both the WordPress community and her local communities, will share the inspiring stories of Bulgarian changemakers, their causes, and how WordPress has become the backbone of their efforts.
