If your team were a WordPress plugin, what would it do? 🤔
It’s not exactly a plugin, but the Block editor in the core—though I suppose you could also call it Gutenberg! 🙂 That’s essentially what we do: transform the incredible designs from the Design team into clean, well-structured templates and pages.
What’s the most unexpected skill you’ve used while organising WCEU? 🏄
Resisting the temptation to indulge in too much candy while visiting Basel!

What’s the funniest or most memorable moment you’ve had with your team?
I can’t help but mention the moment we finally pushed the button and unveiled the new site design—though, to be fair, it wasn’t just one button we pushed, but quite a few along the way!

What’s one thing people don’t realise about your team’s work behind the scenes? 🪁
Something that often surprises people is that WordCamp sites aren’t just regular WordPress sites—they’re complex platforms that play a crucial role in organizing the event. They come with a lot of superpowers, but also with important caveats we need to keep in mind.
In the spirit of open-source collaboration, what’s the best lesson WCEU has taught you about teamwork?
When a group of people comes together around a shared purpose they truly believe in, you can trust that the weight won’t fall solely on your shoulders—everyone will be ready to share the burden and do their part.
Which famous fictional character would make the best addition to your team, and why?
Alfred Pennyworth: he may not be the hero in Batman’s comics or movies, but he’s undeniably the reliable assistant who ensures everything runs smoothly—often taking care of things well ahead of time.
