What’s the most unexpected skill you’ve used while organising WCEU?
A sort of thoughtful improvisation
In the dynamic environment of event planning, adaptability is key. This is my first time as Team Lead, and I have to embrace unexpected challenges as opportunities require acting fast. Whether adjusting our communication strategies, creatively solving problems, or enhancing attendee and media partners’ engagement.

What’s the funniest or most memorable moment you’ve had with your team?
The most memorable moment was reshaping the Comms Team after a slow start. We sat together, shared our thoughts on the event and the community, and realised just how excited and motivated everyone was to make WCEU 2025 the best edition ever. That conversation turned challenges into motivation, proving that our passion for WordPress and its community is stronger than any obstacle!
If WCEU were a music festival, what would be your team’s anthem?
Can’t Stop by Red Hot Chili Peppers
What’s one thing people don’t realise about your team’s work behind the scenes?
I think people don’t know how much the Comms Team handles behind the scenes. We’re not just writing tweets or blog posts—our team is divided into specialised sub-teams covering social media, blog content, PR, newsletters, and more. It’s a well-orchestrated effort that keeps attendees informed, the community engaged, and the WCEU buzz going strong!
In the spirit of open-source collaboration, what’s the best lesson WCEU has taught you about teamwork?
The value of contribution. People here work together and help each other because they truly believe in the project and the community they are part of. No single contribution is too small, and when we collaborate openly, we create something far greater than the sum of its parts!
Which famous fictional character would make the best addition to your team, and why?
Albus Dumbledore! The perfect blend of intelligence, governance, and organisation. Plus, a pinch of real magic would be incredibly beneficial from time to time!
