If your team were a WordPress plugin, what would it do? 🤔
If the Sponsors Team were a WordPress plugin, it would be a “Sponsorship Optimiser”—a powerful tool that seamlessly connects sponsors with the WordCamp ecosystem.
Features:
– Sponsorship Matchmaker – Auto-suggests the best sponsorship package based on company size, budget, and goals.
– Engagement Booster – Provides sponsors with tools to maximise their visibility, like real-time engagement analytics and pre-event networking features.
– Sponsorship CRM – Tracks sponsor communications, deadlines, and deliverables to ensure smooth collaboration.
– Perk Manager – Automatically assigns and manages sponsor perks, from booth allocations to social media shoutouts.
– Event Day Companion – Helps sponsors navigate the event with schedules, notifications, and real-time support.
Basically, a must-have plugin for making sponsorships effortless, engaging, and beneficial for all parties!
What’s the most unexpected skill you’ve used while organising WCEU? 🏄
Creative problem-solving

(Translation: Global connections, lots of calls and emails, endless planning, creative problem-solving, occasional chaos, but ultimately rewarding and exciting!) 😄
What’s the funniest or most memorable moment you’ve had with your team?
One of the funniest and most memorable moments with my team was when we were deep in a sponsorship brainstorming session, trying to come up with creative perks for sponsors. Someone jokingly suggested, “Super Admin sponsors should get a private gondola ride to the venue” (because, you know, Swiss luxury 😆).
That escalated quickly into a full-blown, laughter-filled discussion about VIP perks that don’t exist but totally should, like:
🚁 Helicopter drop-off
🍫 Lifetime supply of Swiss chocolate sponsorship
🐄 Naming rights for a Swiss cow
(Disclaimer: No cows were actually named after sponsors… yet. 🐮)
If WCEU were a music festival, what would be your team’s anthem? 🪇
If WCEU were a music festival, the Sponsors Team’s anthem would be “Money, Money, Money” by ABBA 💰🎶—because, let’s be real, sponsorships make the event possible! 😆
What’s one thing people don’t realise about your team’s work behind the scenes? 🪁
One thing people don’t realise about the Sponsors Team is that we’re not just “selling sponsorships”—we’re building long-term relationships and making sure sponsors feel valued, engaged, and excited about supporting WCEU.
– It’s a marathon, not a sprint – We start months in advance, negotiating, coordinating, and ensuring every sponsor gets the best experience.
– We’re matchmakers – We don’t just take sponsorships; we strategically pair brands with the right opportunities to make their presence at WCEU meaningful.
– We juggle A LOT – From contract details to booth placements, social media mentions, and last-minute requests, we make sure everything runs smoothly.
So, while it might seem like “just emails and invoices” behind the scenes, it’s a mix of sales, event planning, PR, and a whole lot of diplomacy!
In the spirit of open-source collaboration, what’s the best lesson WCEU has taught you about teamwork?
The best lesson WCEU has taught me about teamwork is that trust and transparency are everything.
Which famous fictional character would make the best addition to your team, and why?
Jordan Belfort (The Wolf of Wall Street) – As long as we keep things ethical!
Convince someone in 10 words or less why they should join WCEU next year.
