Roles and Responsibilities

Volunteers support the Organising Team by handling tasks during the event to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Take into account that these roles may change closer to the event You don’t have to decide right away which role you want to take on; you’ll have plenty of time to choose later on.

What’s Involved?

Volunteer tasks take up to two half days or one full day during the 2-days event. Contributor Day volunteering is optional.

You will be able to pick up shifts that fit your needs.

This leaves you with plenty of time to fully enjoy the conference as an attendee. Perks: you will get one or two volunteer t-shirts, a free ticket, an exclusive Social invite, and free entry to the After Party!

Volunteers Musts

Volunteers are the friendly face of the event. We ask you to:

• Be kind, respectful, helpful, and positive.
• Follow the Code of Conduct. 
• Wear your volunteer t-shirt during shifts.
• Help us create a welcoming atmosphere!

Who Can Volunteer?

We welcome everyone, from newcomers to seasoned volunteers, who are engaged with or want to join the WordPress Community. 

We’re looking for individuals with enthusiasm, communication skills, and a commitment to contribute.There are only three requirements to become a Volunteer:

1. Be able to understand and talk fairly well in English (fun fact: we will communicate with you in English).
2. Have a WordPress.org account, as this will be mandatory to get your free ticket for the event and communicate with the Organising Team (if you don’t have an account, you can create one following these instructions).
3. If you require a visa to enter Switzerland and attend WordCamp Europe 2025, please note the following:
   1. Purchase a Ticket: You must first purchase a ticket to the event.
   2. Request an Invitation Letter: After purchasing your ticket, you can request an invitation letter.
   3. Volunteer Ticket Refund: If you are accepted as a volunteer, we will refund the cost of the ticket you purchased.

How to Apply

Ready to join the fun as a volunteer? Then follow these steps: 

• Click “Apply Now!” below to submit your application.
• Check in your mailbox for our Got it! message letting you know we got your application. 
• After the Call for Volunteers closes on 31st March 2025, our team will review all applications.
• You will be notified about your application status by email by the end of April. 
• Are you accepted or in the backup list? Then stay tuned for follow-up emails where we’ll guide you through the next steps, like picking the perfect role for you, joining the Volunteer Team Slack channel, and more.
