Just like all other WordCamps in the world, WordCamp Europe is a conference that focuses on everything WordPress. It’s an informal, community-organised event that is put together by WordPress users like you. Everyone from casual users to core developers is invited to join, participate, share ideas and get to know each other. Learn more or find a local WordCamp near you at WordCamp Central.
WordCamp Europe is a yearly event to bring together the European WordPress community and create cross-border bonds and connections. Besides the event being bigger (did you know that WordCamp Europe is the BIGGEST WordCamp in the world!?) the goals and the way of working are pretty much the same as other WordCamps. We offer opportunities to learn through inspiring speakers and workshops and we encourage connections through all kinds of events. All this is achieved with the support of our awesome Sponsors who also have a place at the event.
To honour and acknowledge the community, we, the WordCamp Europe Lead Organisers, hereby commit to making WordCamp Europe 2024 fair, diverse and kind to everyone. We do that by committing to these statements:
Transparency
- We will keep you updated on our progress and challenges
- We will be honest with you, accountable and learn from our mistakes
Sustainability
- We will use our resources wisely
- We will support projects that teach people about sustainability
Privacy
- We will try to comply with the GDPR to the best of our abilities
DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging)
- We will educate ourselves in this area to gain a better understanding of what is needed to organise a fully inclusive event
- We will work to remove barriers that stop people from being part of the event
- We understand that when we help those who need it the most, we all benefit as a community
- We want people from different backgrounds, cultures and abilities to be part of our event and feel like they belong
- We will actively help groups and individuals join in who might not have had the same chances to succeed
We commit to examining, acknowledging and addressing our own implicit biases and helping others recognise and confront theirs. We will continuously strive for personal growth and learning, breaking down barriers along the way.
We will call in or call out behaviours that go against the values we promote.
Besides this, we also commit to making it fun. Organisers, Speakers and Volunteers all commit their time, knowledge, network and resources to make this event happen (with the Sponsors’ investments, thanks again) and they deserve to have a good time.
