Can you start by painting a picture of what a typical day looks like for you? What fuels your passion for the work you do, and how does it tie into your involvement with WCEU?

A typical day for me would be working on issues related to Yoast plugins, and online meetings with my colleagues. I love working at Yoast because of the people, the company’s values and the commitment to Open Source.

What sparked your interest in becoming a speaker at WCEU? Was there a particular moment or experience that motivated you to share your insights with this community?

I always enjoy sharing my experience with other developers. Many developers helped me on the way, and I’m happy to do the same for others. When I was invited to speak at WordCamp Torrelodones I realised I can share my insights on stage. It was a successful presentation and I got a taste for more!

For those awaiting your talk, could you give us a preview of what we can expect to learn from your talk? Any sneak peeks?

Automated testing can help us catch errors early, acquire good programming habits, develop great features with more confidence and deploy with less stress. I will also talk about practical tips to get started with automated tests in PHP and JavaScript.

Is it your first time at a WCEU or WordPress event? Any standout memories or lessons learned that you’d like to share?

It’s my first time at WCEU, I went to several WordCamps in Spain. During the contributor day I learned that the best way to contribute to core is to pair with another contributor, you help each other fix an issue faster, you learn new things and share your experience.

Looking beyond the scheduled sessions, what do you hope attendees will take away from their overall experience at WCEU? How can they leverage the event to enhance their professional development or personal growth?

I hope attendees will experience the joy of giving back to the community, whether they attend a session, meet a volunteer or attend the contributor day. I recommend attending the contributor day and getting to know experienced contributors.
