{"id":6688,"date":"2022-02-28T17:04:55","date_gmt":"2022-02-28T17:04:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/europe.wordcamp.org\/2022\/?p=6688"},"modified":"2022-02-28T17:04:55","modified_gmt":"2022-02-28T17:04:55","slug":"the-covid-19-situation-in-portugal-is-improving","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/europe.wordcamp.org\/2022\/the-covid-19-situation-in-portugal-is-improving\/","title":{"rendered":"The COVID-19 situation in Portugal is improving"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Portugal has recently entered a new stage of the COVID-19 situation, with many of the previously implemented restrictions being lifted.\u00a0 The home country for WordCamp Europe 2022 is now in an &#8220;alert situation&#8221; &#8211; a much less restrictive status than the previous &#8220;calamity situation&#8221;.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This status change eliminates many of the restrictions that have been in place, including:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Confinement of high-risk contacts.&nbsp; Only persons who test positive for COVID will be required to be in isolation.<\/li><li>Telecommuting is no longer recommended.<\/li><li>Digital certificates are no longer required for entry into bars, nightclubs, restaurants, hotels, major events, and sports venues.&nbsp; The digital certificate <em>is<\/em> still required at border crossings.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Capacity limits of businesses, commercial establishments, and other public spaces have been eliminated.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>On the other hand, two restrictions remain in place:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A negative COVID test, certificate of recovery, or a certificate of full vaccination with a booster dose is still required for visits to patients hospitalized in health facilities.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Wearing a mask indoors is still required in spaces where it is currently mandatory, like stores, restaurants, and big events for more than 500 persons.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If conditions continue to evolve favorably, as expected, the Portuguese Government will alleviate the situation further on March 8.&nbsp; This may include eliminating the requirement for wearing a mask, both outside and inside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The WCEU 2022 Organizing Team will continue to focus on the need to create a healthy and safe environment for all participants and will implement all the individual and collective protection measures necessary and recommended at the time of the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With these changes,&nbsp;
