A Rising Tide lifts all boats<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Poetry follows certain rules and every retreat from them is made by the author deliberately. Code is poetry, all WordPress developers know this! To make the code clearer, easier to read, and maintain, it should follow standards. Even more, to make code compatible with an environment it must fulfil the requirements of the language itself. The Human brain can struggle with words that it cannot understand and try to make sense of the content, quite the opposite situation is with machines if they use a certain language version to read code, it must follow this language to the last semy-column. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What does the team do?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Automatic testing of plugins and themes which are uploaded to the repository on WordPress.org is the main goal of the Tide team. It\u2019s a rising tide that will lift all plugins and themes to a higher level of code standards and will ensure their compatibility with actual PHP versions and much more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When does the team meet?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The team meets in the #tide<\/a> Slack channel each week on Tuesday at 18:00 UTC (20:00 CEST).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For new people <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There are many ways to contribute to WordPress projects in general and it refers to Tide as well. You can help in championing the adoption of the quality testing results in the WordPress project. You can also help by contributing code or documentation to Tide itself. Read wptide.org<\/a> for more information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is also a perfect place for people who prefer Node.js to other environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
