{"id":19713,"date":"2020-06-04T13:30:59","date_gmt":"2020-06-04T13:30:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/2020.europe.wordcamp.org\/?p=19713"},"modified":"2020-09-08T11:00:25","modified_gmt":"2020-09-08T11:00:25","slug":"introducing-the-official-tune-of-wceu-2020-online","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/europe.wordcamp.org\/2020\/introducing-the-official-tune-of-wceu-2020-online\/","title":{"rendered":"Introducing the official tune of WCEU 2020 Online"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Listen to a sneak preview of the official WCEU 2020 Online tune and get to know its creator&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n<!--noteaser-->\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-style-large is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Once upon a time, there was a restless boy who talked to the sheep<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>After spending all of his childhood painting &#8211; even on the walls of his parents&#8217; house &#8211; this restless boy moved to Barcelona where he gave free rein to all his creative potential as an <strong>illustrator<\/strong>, <strong>designer<\/strong> and <strong>animator<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In recent times this boy has learned to play the piano and, letting his creativity flow, he&#8217;s been inventing new tunes every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is said that his superpowers for <em>3D creation<\/em>, <em>animation<\/em>, <em>audio and video composition<\/em>, and even for <em>code<\/em>, come from his great connection to <em>squirrels<\/em>, <em>sheep<\/em> and <em>raccoons<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the person behind the tune you will hear throughout the live broadcast of WCEU 2020 Online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/2020.europe.wordcamp.org\/files\/2020\/06\/wceu2020-tune-extended_version.wav\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>His real name is <em>Angel de Franganillo<\/em>, but everybody knows him as <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/antiheroe.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Antiheroe<\/a>. He told us about the creative process behind the WCEU 2020 Online tune:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>When WCEU asked me to make the tune, it was a bit challenging since I only play piano for fun and I&#8217;m not a professional. I usually work with graphics, so I just follow the process I&#8217;d use for a graphics project, but with an audio piece.<\/p><p>After some research and talks with WCEU, my main goals were: <em>Tech<\/em>, <em>Europe<\/em>, and <em>Community<\/em>. So I sat down in front of my piano to play some chords that suited those concepts and made a loop with them. Later, I looked for some synths to dress the loop and finish the piece.<\/p><p>That&#8217;s how it was made.
