Meet the team behind #WCEU 2019<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The year 2019 marks the seventh annual WordCamp Europe, which takes place on 20-22 June in Berlin, Germany. WordCamps are conferences that take place across the world, focusing on everything WordPress. They celebrate open source and the community of people who use and help grow it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WordCamp Europe (WCEU), like all other WordCamps, is an event organised for the community, by the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let’s find out more about the people and teams working to bring you what is one of the largest WordCamps in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our 66 organisers come from 15 countries across Europe and beyond to work on WCEU behind the scenes. They are grouped into 10 teams to deliver this three-day event. You can find the who, what and why by visiting the Organisers page<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our dedicated volunteers work hard for 10 months to put together a WordCamp to inspire, include and connect attendees from across the world and make sure there is something for everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

None of this would be possible without the two people who bring together the whole WCEU 2019 Organising Team — our Global Lead and Local Lead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Milan Ivanovic, Global Lead said:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOrganising a WordCamp of this size takes a lot of time, effort and a strong team. To organise WCEU 2019, we’ve gathered 10 teams with 66 plus organisers in total. A special shout-out goes to our hosts from the Local Team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEvery year, the Organising Team is focused on delivering an extraordinary experience for our attendees. With this being our seventh year putting on the event, we’ve come a long way, and we’re working to accommodate everyone’s needs so attendees feel welcome and learn something new.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bernhard Kau, Local Lead said:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are really looking forward to welcoming attendees from across the world to this multicultural city. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWordCamp Europe 2019 coming to Berlin coincides with the 30th anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989. The venue for WCEU is actually on the same street as one of the border crossing checkpoints. You can still find pieces of the Berlin Wall in many places in the city, most of them painted with amazing street art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGermany was just rated second place on the Lonely Planet\u2019s Best in Travel 2019<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added: \u201cAttendees can expect a schedule full of outstanding talks and workshops for many different groups and skill levels. You will be able to hear speakers from across the global community.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
