There are flights to and from 150 destinations in 56 countries.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>From Europe<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: There are direct flights from most major cities, including Amsterdam, Athens, Barcelona, Belgrade, Brussels, Budapest, Lisbon, London, Madrid, Paris, Sofia, Stockholm, Vienna, Zagreb, Zurich and many more, with \u00a0round-trip tickets costing less than \u20ac100. Most major airlines fly to Tegel, and most low-cost airlines fly to Sch\u00f6nefeld.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>From North America<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: There are direct flights from New York (JFK and EWR); and starting \u00a0summer 2019, there will be direct flights from Philadelphia (PHL) and Toronto (YYZ).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>From the Middle East<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: There is a direct flight to and from Doha (DOH).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>From \u00a0Asia<\/b>: There are direct flights to and from Beijing (PEK) and Singapore (SIN).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you fly to Berlin from other destinations, you need a connecting flight via a European airport such as London (LHR), Amsterdam (AMS), Zurich (ZRH), Frankfurt (FRA), or Munich (MUC).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Lufthansa<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, the official airline group of WCEU 2019, is offering a special worldwide discount to all attendees. Take the TXL to Beusselstrasse or X9 bus to Jungfernheide, transfer to S41 and get off at Sonnenallee. Walk 350 meters (two blocks) to Estrel. Take 171 to Sonnenallee\/Saalestr. and walk 350 meters (two blocks) to Estrel. Ticket costs 2.25 euros.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Train &#8211; Travel time is 30 minutes. Take RB14 Nauen to Ostkreuz, transfer to S41 and get off at Sonnenallee. Walk 350 meters (2 blocks) to Estrel. Walk 350 meters (2 blocks) to the Estrel venue.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If your train does not stop at S\u00fcdkreuz, get off at Ostbahnhof or Hauptbahnhof, \u00a0transfer to the S-bahn\u2019 train S3, S5 or S7, get off at Ostkreuz, then transfer to S41, and get off at Sonnenallee station. Walk 350 meters (2 blocks) to the Estrel venue.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">S-bahn trains run frequently, usually every 5 minutes, and late into the night. Schedules can be found via navigation apps such as Google Maps.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Train Tickets<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tickets can be as low as<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bahn.com\/en\/view\/offers\/germany\/saver-fare.shtml\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u20ac19.90 for a single trip within Germany<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/reiseauskunft.bahn.de\/bin\/query.exe\/en?protocol=https:\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u20ac39.90 from destinations outside Germany<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. We\u2019ve also provided recommended routes and parking information.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Autobahn<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The German autobahn (highway\/motorway) is safe, well maintained and, despite rumours, not a race track! Yes, some stretches \u00a0have no speed limit, but for safety it is best to follow the recommended speed of 130 km\/h.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Environmental Zone<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Environmental Zone, or low-emission zone, is the inner city of Berlinsurrounded by the S-Bahn train system lines S41 and S42 that cars may only enter with a verified \u00a0green sticker. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Estrel venue is outside this zone, so you do not need a green sticker.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">However, If you intend to travel <\/span><b><i>inside <\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">the Berlin Environmental Zone with your car, first check that your vehicle is eligible and then<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.umwelt-plakette.de\/nc\/en\/store.html\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">purchase a green sticker<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. If your car only qualifies for a yellow or red sticker, you are prohibited from entering the Environmental Zone with this vehicle.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It is easy, reliable, and inexpensive to travel around Berlin using public transport. From whichever direction you approach Berlin, you will end up on \u00a0A10.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Getting to the Estrel venue<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Most will use Google Maps or another navigation app to find their way to the Berlin city centre or Estrel venue, but we provided these directions in case you would like local guidance.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>From the north<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (Scandinavia via Hamburg or ferry ports Kiel, L\u00fcbeck, Rostock, Stralsund) via A24, you will enter A10 at &#8220;Dreieck Havelland.&#8221; As you are on the direct opposite side of the ring to the venue, you may choose either direction on the Berliner Ring.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>From the east<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> via Frankfurt (Oder) or Poland via A12, you will enter A10 at &#8220;Dreieck Spreeau&#8221; and should follow signs for &#8220;Potsdam.&#8221;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">From the south east (Dresden, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Balkans) is to stay on A13 and cross A10 Berliner Ring.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>From the south west <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">(Leipzig, Bavaria, Switzerland, Italy) will enter A10 via A9 at &#8220;Dreieck Potsdam.&#8221; Follow directions above in the second bullet for &#8220;Frankfurt (Oder).&#8221;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>From the west<\/b> (Hannover, the Netherlands, Belgium) via A2, you will enter A10 at &#8220;Dreieck Werder.&#8221; Follow directions above in the second bullet for &#8220;Frankfurt (Oder).&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Inside Berlin<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Once at &#8220;Sch\u00f6nefelder Kreuz,&#8221; where A13 from the south east crosses the Berliner Ring, head onto A113 and get off at exit 26 &#8220;Grenzallee&#8221; in the direction of A100.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Turn right at the end of the exit onto &#8220;Bergiusstrasse,&#8221; and turn left \u00a0at &#8220;Haberstrasse.&#8221; Go to the end of &#8220;Haberstrasse,&#8221; turn left at &#8220;Neuk\u00f6llnsche Allee&#8221; to get back to &#8220;Grenzallee.&#8221; This detour is \u00a0caused by road work on A100.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Turn right onto &#8220;Grenzallee&#8221; and then left onto &#8220;Sonnenallee.&#8221; The Estrel venue is on your right.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Parking<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5335 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/2019.europe.wordcamp.org\/files\/2019\/03\/estrel-parking.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"462\" height=\"311\" srcset=\"https:\/\/europe.wordcamp.org\/2019\/files\/2019\/03\/estrel-parking.png 886w, https:\/\/europe.wordcamp.org\/2019\/files\/2019\/03\/estrel-parking-300x202.png 300w, https:\/\/europe.wordcamp.org\/2019\/files\/2019\/03\/estrel-parking-768x517.png 768w, https:\/\/europe.wordcamp.org\/2019\/files\/2019\/03\/estrel-parking-446x300.png 446w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 462px) 100vw, 462px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Estrel venue has \u00a0450 spaces in the underground parking lot. There is also an outdoor, uncovered parking lot across the street with 225 spaces at Sonnenallee 228.
