Whether you’re attending, contributing, learning, speaking or sponsoring, we know that you’re sure to work up an appetite. Great news! We’ve got food for you at #WCEU on Contributor Day, on Main Conference Days and at the After Party.
An online tool has been created by WordCamp Europe Organisers to help new contributors take part in building the WordPress platform.
By answering a series of questions, the Contributor Orientation Tool helps you learn about the different teams you can join to contribute to WordPress.
The tool only takes a few minutes to use and is available on the WCEU website for those attending Contributor Day on 20 June 2019. It can also be used by anyone to help decide on teams to join at other WordCamps.
Update: All places for Contributor Day have now been filled.
Contributor Day is a one-day event where volunteers contribute to WordPress, collaborate with new and existing contributors, and learn about the different ways to get involved in the project. Events like this take place all over the world, either as standalone fixtures or partnered with a WordCamp.
WordCamp Europe’s Contributor Day takes place on 20 June 2019, preceding the two conference days on 21-22 June.
The WordPress project is made up of a number of teams working on areas ranging from core and theme review to design and marketing.
Many Make WordPress teams will be represented, and the ability to choose a team was available when registering for a ticket.
We hope our Q&A series has inspired you to take part in the event at WordCamp Europe on 20 June 2019. We have been working with other WordCamps and the Make WordPress Marketing Team to help encourage new attendees to join a contributor event.

Milana Cap, Community Team Lead for WCEU, said: “As organisers and experienced contributors, we often take Contributor Day and its specific vocabulary for granted. Our survey from last year’s event reminded us just how unclear and overwhelming it can be when registering for your first Contributor Day. Help us erase doubts by asking anything you want to know about Contributor Day. We will answer all your questions.”
By submitting questions about Contributor Day, not only do you receive direct answers, but you also help other people with similar questions.
Haven’t submitted your question yet? There’s still time. You can ask us anything and share feedback from previous Contributor Days at WCEU and elsewhere using our Google form. Questions and answers will be published regularly.
