Come and meet the WordCamp Europe 2019 organising team. They volunteer their time, experience and energy to make an event a memorable experience for all. 

Team Leads

Each year, one person is selected to oversee the overall organisation of WordCamp Europe. Working in close collaboration with the team lead of the host country, they set the tone and create the dynamic for the event.

In 2019, the WCEU Global Lead is Milan Ivanovic and the Local Lead is Bernhard Kau.

Milan and Bernhard are supported by 10 teams. Each team has a leader and consists of people chosen from the international WordPress community.

Attendee Services Team

This will be the second year this team has been at WordCamp Europe. Its members focus on ensuring attendees have the information and support they need throughout the event.

Michael Burridge

Tess is a writer who is passionate about communicating ideas in creative ways. Day to day, she leads the marketing and communications efforts for Mind Doodle, a digital tool for making ideas happen.

Daniela Costa completed her Master’s Degree in Innovation and Technological Entrepreneurship in 2009, after completing her degree in Computer Engineering. She began her career as a Web Developer in 2005, specializing in Project Management and now she is COO of Dipcode (Web development with WordPress). She experimented WordPress 14 years ago and today she is co-organizer of WordPress Meetups in Braga.

Community Team

This team develops Contributor Day – an important stand-alone event which takes place on 20 June 2019 ahead of the two days of talks. Contributor events can help attendees discover how they can be more involved in the WordPress community through networking and contributing to the development of the platform.

Content Team

From selecting inspiring talks and interactive workshops to evaluating attendee feedback from previous years, the Content Team has the responsibility for curating an awesome programme that becomes the engine of the WordCamp production process.

Design Team

WordCamp Europe has its own consistent global presence and each year the Design Team injects a distinct local flavour of the host country. The team decides on web design, stage decoration, badges, swag and more. It lends support to other teams for visual communication needs, all which make this international event full of cultural inspiration and attraction.

Local Team

On the ground in Berlin, the Local Team provides a wealth of knowledge and contacts, making logistics, sourcing local suppliers and venues, and information gathering much easier. Thanks to the work of this team, attendees can learn more about cultural customs and reduce potential barriers or difficulties in language.

Alex Goller

Alex is a Berlin-based web developer, co-organiser of WordPress events in Berlin and an active community member. To make up for long hours in front of his laptop, he loves travelling and hiking.

WordCamps everywhere are only possible with the hard work of volunteers who sign up to lend their time and energy to make sure everything runs smoothly during the event. The Volunteer Team for Berlin 2019 has the illustrious, but hugely satisfying, job of recruiting, training, organising and managing upwards of 250 individuals for three days.
