Call for Teaching Assistants (TAs)

Applications closed on 31 May 2019

This year we are celebrating WordCamp Europe on the 20-22 June in Berlin, Germany. More than 3,000 tickets have been sold, and we are now only a few weeks away from this annual conference where you will meet other web developers, designers, bloggers, and a diverse range of people connected by WordPress.

Following the success of WCEU workshops last year in Belgrade, we are delighted to include them again in this year’s schedule. Workshops offer attendees a dynamic environment to learn about topics ranging from content and branding to advanced development.

We have 15 workshops for you, which includes nine 90-minute and six 3-hour workshops that can be seen on the schedule.

After Party

A heart on a coloured street art background, with text in front saying #WCEU After Party, Introducing the theme

Back to the 80s, #WCEU style

It was an important time for both WordPress co-founders, too. Mike Little wrote his first open source code, which created 3D letters on 8-bit computers, and Matt Mullenweg was born in 1984.

Reducing waste at #WCEU

Steps for improving sustainability

Earlier this year, the Organising Team from WordCamp Europe and Berlin-based society Zero Waste e.V. started a collaboration and set a goal to reduce waste at WCEU.

We identified ways to achieve this goal: Reduce, reuse, recycle.

  1. Reduce: Minimise waste upstream by not producing waste in the first place.
  2. Reuse: Whenever possible, reuse materials and include recycled materials.
  3. Recycle: Handle waste downstream by leading it back into the cycle.

We have a few things to do on Wednesday 19 June, organised and led by volunteers from the WordPress community, and a WordPress Meetup happening after WCEU 2019 comes to a close.
