Heather Burns<\/a> is a digital law specialist in Glasgow, Scotland. She researches, writes, publishes, consults, and speaks extensively on internet laws and policies that influence the craft of web design and development. In her talk she will provide an overview of how internet governance works, demonstrate how advocacy works in practice and show how you can claim your place: “Making your voice heard: how to win friends and influence policy.<\/a>”<\/p>\n

Sasha Endoh\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Using WordPress for good<\/h2>\n

Sasha<\/a> is a web strategist, front-end developer, and multidisciplinary designer from Montreal, where she runs an interactive design studio. In her talk “Using WordPress for good<\/a>” she will share with her experience in working for non-profit organisations, their unique needs and how to address them.<\/p>\n

Tom Greenwood\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Zero Carbon WordPress<\/h2>\n

A fan of open source and WordPress, Tom<\/a>\u00a0co-founded Wholegrain Digital with his wife Vineeta back in 2007 with the aim of helping good people benefit from good design. “Zero Carbon WordPress<\/a>” will be about how we as a global community can use the power of WordPress to help tackle climate change and set an example towards a zero carbon web.<\/p>\n

Alice Orru\u00a0\u2013 How I started working on customer support for a popular WordPress plugin as a total newbie<\/h2>\n

Alice<\/a> is a\u00a0long-time blogger, an avid reader and a language geek from Genova. Her journey becoming\u00a0a multi-language customer support agent for WP Media will be the topic of her talk: “How I started working on customer support for a popular WordPress plugin as a total newbie<\/a>“. She will share her experience of starting in a tech company with hardly any knowledge of WordPress.<\/p>\n

David Lockie \u2013 How to grow from freelancer to agency owner<\/h2>\n

As Founder and Director of Pragmatic – a WordPress specialist agency, David<\/a> is looking forward to talking about how he accidentally started his agency and ended up with 40 full-time employees in 5 years. His talk “How to grow from freelancer to agency owner<\/a>” will include hiring employees, where to find them, keeping them and how to create a corporate culture.<\/p>\n

Joshua Strebel \u2013 5 ways you may be sabotaging your business + 2 proven ways to succeed<\/h2>\n
