Of course, bistrots have evolved since then but Paris stays an ever evolving place for new restaurants.

For this selection, we simply spent a night gathering places we recently loved. So this is not a comprehensive list of Parisian restaurants but it is shared with the hope you’ll find a great place to have a meal with friends while attending WordCamp Europe.

Since the mid-2000s, French Cuisine reinvented itself through the bistronomie, a less formal cuisine with proximity and warmness in mind. Also remember that each French region has its own cuisine tradition and all of them have a place in Paris. The city also hosts a lot of world cuisines, some of them have kept their authenticity and others have mixed with typical French dishes. One of the latest additions to this cuisine palette is probably street food, as usual with a little bit of a French touch.

As usual, here are tips to have a great lunch or dinner in Paris:

Make a reservation: often, restaurants are small places and it can be difficult to get a place in a famous one. So be careful and make a reservation.

Tipping: tipping is not an obligation as it is included in prices but it is a strong tradition if you have enjoyed your meal.

Wine: wine is generally not included in menus. Don’t hesitate to ask which wine can match your food. Also, check which wines are available in glasses (rather than full bottles).

Dinner: dinner is expected around 7pm or later. A lot of restaurants don’t open before 7pm. To wait until then, don’t hesitate to have an apéritif with friends (i.e. a drink with finger food). It’s a tradition to begin the night like this.

At last, during the day and for more normal meals, try to avoid tourist spots. Food is bad and expensive there. As an alternative, you can find good sandwiches in bakeries and eat them in a park. If you have the possibility, it is even better to buy some food in a small supermarket and do your sandwiches yourself. At last, don’t forget to try pastries for your desserts.

So here are 25 recommended restaurants.

Bon appétit!

Le Beurre Noisette (traditional)
68, rue Vasco de Gama 75015 Paris
+33 1 48 56 82 49
https://www.restaurantbeurrenoisette.com/

Le Cornichon (traditional)
34 Rue Gassendi 75014 Paris
+33 1 43 20 40 19
https://www.lecornichon.fr/en

L’Os à Moelle (traditional)
3, rue Vasco de Gama 75015 Paris
+33 1 45 57 27 27
http://osamoelle-restaurant.com/

La Régalade (traditional)
49, avenue Jean Moulin 75014 Paris
+33 1 45 45 68 58
https://lefooding.com/fr/restaurants/restaurant-la-regalade-paris

Le Boudoir (traditional)
25 rue du Colisée 75008 Paris
+33 1 43 59 25 29
http://www.boudoirparis.fr/

La Renaissance (traditional)
112 RUE Champoinnet 75018 Paris
+33 1 85 15 28 31
http://www.bistrotlarenaissance.fr/en/

Au Deux Amis (traditional)
45, rue Oberkampf 75011 Paris
+33 1 58 30 38 13
https://lefooding.com/fr/restaurants/restaurant-aux-deux-amis-paris

Bistrot Paul Bert (traditional)
18, rue Paul-Bert 75011 Paris
+33 1 43 72 24 01
https://lefooding.com/fr/restaurants/restaurant-bistrot-paul-bert-paris

Le Baratin (traditional)
3, rue Jouye-Rouve 75020 Paris
+33 1 43 49 39 70
https://lefooding.com/fr/restaurants/restaurant-le-baratin-paris

Lou Tiap (traditional)
81, rue de Bagnolet 75020 Paris
+33 1 43 70 77 93
http://loutiap.fr/

L’ébauchoir (traditional with vegetarian dishes)
43 Rue de Cîteaux 75011 Paris
+33 1 43 42 49 31
https://www.lebauchoir.com/

Café Pinson (traditional –
