Unlike previous years, Contributor Day is going to happen the day before the conference, on Thursday, June 15th, 2017. Today we are opening registration. As we can accommodate up to 500 contributors, we are asking you to onlyregister if you plan to attend. You are still not sure if you should? Well, we already told you the reasons you should participate so don’t hesitate, just go to our registration form and we’ll see you in Paris. 😉
This summer 3000 WordPress people will meet in beautiful vibrant Paris for WordCamp Europe. We would like to introduce a few interesting attendees who work with WordPress and are active in the community.
Our second interview is with David de Boer, entrepreneur, developer and frequent WordCamp speaker from the Netherlands.
If we would ask our attendees about the one thing they are all looking forward (besides the talks, of course) most of them would say – the after party. And each year the WordCamp Europe afterparty is the glue that sticks people from all over the world together. They talk, they dance, and they exchange ideas that one day could help build something extraordinary. To make the afterparty an unforgettable experience for everyone, we decided to host it in the Pavillon d’Armenonville, or as they call it “a green haven in Paris”. If you’re in possession of a WordCamp Europe ticket (good for you!) you’re probably going to need to plan your trip to Paris soon. Our local team has gone above and beyond this year to help you out.
Our design team put a lot of effort into a new logo in the last weeks and it finally came to life! The original logo was designed by Tammie Lister and it evolved in the following years getting small alterations by the great design teams of each WordCamp.
The new logo is an evolution and homage to the old logo that is loved by the WordPress Community, keeping the dotted european map of the original logo.
Lucijan Blagonic is the designer of the new logo, front-end designer from Zagreb and part of this year’s design team.
Our design team wanted to create a new brand identity for WordCamp Europe, with a clear focus on the location of where the event is at. Each year the visual focus area will change based on its location. The look and feel of the logo will always be unique for the selected host city through the distinct location focus, the color scheme and typeface. The logo mark will however be universally the same and highly recognizable to create brand awareness.
To make it easier for future host cities the team will develop a logo generator to create and export the logo mark each year.
