SPEAKER APPLICATIONS ARE CLOSED

WordCamp Europe is looking for speakers. Want to take to the stage in Paris to talk WordPress with up to 3000 people? Got a story to tell? Some knowledge to share? Got some fancy tricks or techniques? We want to hear from you.

As one of the biggest WordCamps in the world, applying to WordCamp Europe can be daunting. We want a speaker roster that is diverse, representing all aspects of WordPress and the WordPress community. Over the coming weeks we will be publishing posts with advice on applying to WCEU, as well as about how speakers will be selected. We encourage you to subscribe to the blog to read these posts, but if you want any additional support you can email us to get help with your application. Also, we will be happy to provide support and mentorship if your talk is selected.

Format

WordCamp Europe 2017 will have two tracks. Each slot on the schedule will be an hour long. The first 45 minutes of the slot will be for content, the last 15 minutes will be to allow people to switch rooms, grab a coffee, and take a break.

Within that, we will have the following sessions:

  • Long talks – 45 minutes in total, breaking down to around 30 mins for talk & 15 mins for questions. 24 long talks.
  • Lightning talks – 10 minutes each, 45 minutes per session. 16 Lightning talks.

Contributor Day Talks

We are also asking for talks for this years contributor day. Contributor day talks will be 30 minutes each and should focus on aspects of the WordPress community, contributing to WordPress, including core, event organising, polyglots, and any other contributor group.
