Call for Organisers

In 2017, WordCamp Europe turns five! And as announced today we’ll also be hosting the first European Community Summit.

WordCamp Europe is built by an amazing group of volunteers organized into two teams: the Global team, a collection of passionate WordPress professionals spread throughout Europe and the world; and the Local team, at the source of the application for their city, working on the ground. Since the first edition in Leiden, in 2013, the Global team has grown organically by absorbing a few members of the previous local team each year.

Since this last edition in Vienna, however, WordCamp Europe has started growing even faster, and this year we’ve decided to build a larger team in order to maintain the level of quality of the past editions while remaining manageable for the volunteers involved.

If you are interested in participating in the organization of the next WordCamp Europe, if you think you can dedicate time to it, and if you have prior experience as the organizer of a large WordCamp or as a volunteer at WCEU, please fill out this application before Sunday, July 17 at midnight.

We will then read all the applications, get in touch with all applicants, and select the ones we think can make the greatest team for 2017.

The Road to Paris

WordCamp Europe is growing.

Fast.

In 2016 we welcomed more than twice as many people as 2015, for the largest WordCamp ever on Earth with a total of 3,700 between attendees and live stream viewers.

At this scale, and with such a growth rate, work on the 2017 edition of WordCamp Europe has started before even switching off the lights on 2016, and this is the reason why you are reading this post unusually early, and why we have already opened ticket sales.

Our goal is to offer you an amazing event each year, always different, always better, which is why at this stage, there isn’t much we can share with you… there are a few things we know though:

Where

Paris, France. One does not simply mention a city, though. WordCamp Europe 2017 will be held at Les Docks de Paris, one of the best venues in the french capital, offering us large spaces and great flexibility.

When

June 15th to 17th, 2017*

We listened to your feedback, and moved WCEU one week earlier in June, let’s see if we will reach temperatures over 30ºC for the third year in a row.

* Update: Please note that the dates are changed from previously planned 16-18th to 15–17th. We’ll keep you posted with new information on our website.

What

Three days of WordPress magic: talks, workshops, meetups, business, networking, friendship, lunches, dinners and parties.

As we move forward, and the organising time will take its final shape, we’ll  share all news ad information here; the best two options to guarantee you won’t miss anything are to purchase your ticket now, or subscribe to this site in the sidebar. One of these is better, will you guess which one?
