Video: Matt Mullenweg & Om Malik Q&A at #WCEU 2014

From empowering women to the advice for european companies to stop comparing themselves to US companies and the 5% rule of thumb for companies who use WordPress on giving back to core to ensure the future of WordPress, Matt Mullenweg’s Q&A session at WordCamp Europe sparked a lot of discussions.

We have the video from the session up and running for all of those, who couldn’t make WordCamp Europe 2014.

Enjoy and let’s talk about it.

WCEU 2014 Speakers: Konstantin Obenland

We’re happy to greet out next speaker – one of the guys behind default themes Twenty Thirteen and Twenty Fourteen, Konstantin Obenland.

Konstantin is a Code Wrangler at Automattic, where he’s working on WordPress Core full-time. He has a long history of contributing to WordPress, starting out with releasing plugins and reviewing themes as part of the WordPress Theme Review Team, before he focused on bundled themes, co-leading the development of Twenty Thirteen and Twenty Fourteen. At Automattic, Konstantin is also a leading contributor to Underscores, a WordPress starter theme that is featured in the WordPress Theme Development Handbook and recommended by the Theme Review Team.

Born and raised in Germany, he moved to the United States two years ago where he now lives in Ventura, a small coastal city in Southern California. There he enjoys the great weather and sandy beaches, tasty Mexican food, diverse craft beer, and the year-around strawberry season.

WCEU Speakers: Dario Jazbec Hrvatin

Have you ever noticed how many people working with WordPress are also musicians?

This community rocks!

We’re happy to welcome another one of these wonderful hybrids to the WCEU Speakers table – usability expert and musician Dario Jazbec Hrvatin.

Dario works as an in-development tester of WordPress plugins. Besides testing the plugins he also runs usability tests. He’s an in-development tester for OnTheGoSystems, which helps him to immensely broaden his experience and knowledge with everything connected to testing.

Born in Croatia and living in Slovenia for some years now, from the very start he chose WordPress as his primary development tool and never looked back. After freelancing and spending a few years in a non-governmental sector he started working for a renowned Slovenian marketing agency as a lead web developer. This allowed him to gain great experience on working with clients, online marketing and web developing for different sectors.

He spends much of his free time working with his band Helika in which he is the main author, singer and guitarist, so he’s used to talking and singing to big crowds.

WordCamp Europe has a lot more to share. Keep up on  TwitterFacebook, and Google + .
